10 kW Boost Power Supply

A 650V, 10 kW SMPS, based on boost topology, has been developed.  SMPS has been designed to work for pulsed load i.e. 20 J of energy is drawn from the output in 50 msec at the rate of 250 Hz. The output regulation is less than ± 1%. During no load conditions the control goes into chop mode, therefore, the output voltage does not go beyond 655 V. The entire supply is mounted in a 19” standard box of 6U height with forced air-cooling for heat removal.
