Experimental station for solid samples

An experimental station consisting of a UHV chamber with ports at multiple angles and a linear motion feedthrough based sample holder for solid samples of 2 to 2.5cm diameter is connected to the beamline. At present absorption/transmission experiments in the wavelength range of 500 to 3500 Å can be done on solids. Gas phase studies in the wavelength region of 1100 – 3500Å can be performed using the beamline (Lithium fluoride window gate valve limits the operational wavelength range). PC based control and data acquisition system controls, monitors, acquires and stores all the experimental parameters and data. Resolving power of the beamline and experimental facilities are shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4
