Electron Linac Technology
A major focus of the activities of the Beam Physics & FEL Laboratory is in the direction of developing novel accelerating structures for high-brightness electron beams, with applications mainly to short-wavelength (ultimately X-ray) FELs. An important goal in this direction is the indigenous development of the technology of building accelerating structures. These activities come under the Laser Photocathode Linac Project of the IXth Plan.
