The Research and Development activities of the Beam Physics & Free Electron Laser (BP&FEL) Laboratory at RRCAT are focused mainly towards the development of free electron lasers (FELs) and the study of related Beam Physics issues.

The activities of the BP&FEL Laboratory can be broadly classified as follows:
