Chemical Treatment Facility was established initially for chemical treatment and electropolishing for Ultra High Vacuum components. To meet the demands of many laboratories in this centre, activities were extended in the field of electrodeposition, anodization and conversion coatings. Analytical lab was established to support this facility for improving the quality by analyzing the plating solutions, raw and treated effluent. Basic instruments for deposit characterization like galvanostat, microhardness tester, coating thickness measuring instrument, gloss meter, adhesion tester are also being used. Development activities in the field of electroforming and nanowire synthesis is also under progress.
