Indus-2 Vacuum Status

All these chambers and components along with other lattice components which form part of  the ring were assembled in the ring  and tested for ultimate vacuum. Vacuum system for RF cavities along with supports were fully designed, fabricated and the RF vacuum system was assembled, baked and ultimate vacuum achieved.
The ultimate vacuum reached was in the range of 2 x 10-10 mbar  to 1x10-9  mbar.
Considering the size of the ring of 172.47 m, and the large number of components, this was a mammoth task and was completed in a short span of 6 months.

The vacuum system of Microtron, Booster, Indus-1 and the transport Lines, 1, 2 and 3 are also designed, fabricated, tested, assembled and maintained by  UHVTD.
