Indigenous development of Fast Closing Shutter
for SRS
Two mechanisms have been developed for the fast closing action of the shutter. One being spring actuated, providing a total closing time of 11.6 ms and other, pneumatically actuated, providing a closing time of 8.6 ms. The shutters have an opening of 50 x 35mm with DN 63CF as connecting flanges. A suitable Controller to control Fast Closing Shutter & an UHV Gate Valve has been developed which can take input from a suitable vacuum sensor and trigger the shutter and a backup UHV Gate Valve to isolate the experimental area from the Storage Ring.
