Septum and Kicker pulsed magnets are required in a particle accelerator. Septum magnets provide the necessary deflection to the incoming beam to match the angle of the beam transfer line to the accelerator orbit. The kicker magnet is required to generate a region of uniform field which can be turned on and off rapidly at a high frequency.
